CEO's Corner

CEO Founder

Dean Kemp

I’ve always believed that if you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room. Surrounding myself with people who challenge my thinking, question the norm, and push the boundaries of innovation is how I grow (both as a leader and as a developer). Growth comes from collaboration, and collaboration comes from respect, humility, and a shared drive to create something better
For me, leadership isn’t about titles it’s about relationships. I build genuine connections with clients and colleagues alike, because I’ve learned that relationships last far longer than contracts. It’s those same relationships that turn a 2 a.m. system crisis into a shared challenge, solved not with extra invoices, but with a strong cup of coffee and a lessons learnt session the next morning. That’s the kind of partnership I believe in.

Over the years, my journey has been defined by a mix of technical depth and business understanding. As a passionate trailblazer in project management, software development, and business analytics, I’ve dedicated my career to redefining workflow processes and bringing innovation to life. My work ethic is intentional, always mindful of the “why” behind every decision. Challenges aren’t obstacles; they’re opportunities to learn, adapt, and evolve.
My expertise lies in translating client needs into custom-built solutions, bridging the gap between business and technology. Having worked on both sides of the spectrum, I turn client experiences into technical insights that elevate operational efficiency to an art form.
At the end of the day, I’m a CEO who codes. I believe in staying close to the craft, understanding the technology, and leading by doing. Because at BitByBit Production, leadership isn’t about being in charge, it’s about being part of the team, growing together, and building relationships that stand the test of time.

Projects I've worked on in my career

The list below may not include every project I’ve worked on, but it highlights the diversity and range of complexity across my experience, from simple to highly sophisticated projects.

MotoData

I have the privilege of working closely with MotoData building a trusted relationship that allows me to contribute to scalable solutions tailored to their business needs. Drawing on this partnership, I helped develop systems that ensure every step from application to payment is as seamless as possible, while fully adhering to the regulations that govern their industry.
This project highlights not only the technical solutions implemented but also the long-term trust and collaboration cultivated with the client, enabling continuous improvement and innovation in their processes.

SABPP: South African Board of People Practices

I first met SABPP early in my career while working at a previous company. At the time, I was a junior developer, and they left in search of newer technology. Years later, the impact of the relationship and service delivery they experienced from me back then led to a call (SABPP staff had been following my career and watching BitByBit grow).
They returned to a trusted face to guide them into a new era, relying on both the technical expertise and the commitment to service they remembered. This project exemplifies how long-term relationships, consistency, and trust can turn early career efforts into enduring partnerships, allowing me to help SABPP embrace innovation while maintaining the reliability they value.

SETA's - Sector Education and Training Authorities

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with several Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) and qualification bodies, including FP&M SETA, LG SETA, MAPP SETA, CATHSETA, MERSETA, EWSETA, MQA SETA, BANK SETA, and the QCTO.
My involvement spanned multiple roles (from Developer and Business Analyst to Consultant, Trainer, and Project & Account Manager) giving me a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of SETA-driven systems and qualification frameworks.
This work also extended to the integration of external platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, and other enterprise systems, enabling true end-to-end solutions that streamline workflows, enhance reporting, and ensure seamless data exchange between organizations and SETA systems.
This diverse experience has deepened my insight into compliance, reporting, and learner management processes, allowing me to design and implement solutions.

NTA - Namibian Training Authorities

I’ve also had the opportunity to work closely with the Namibian Training Authority (NTA), contributing to the development and enhancement of systems that support skills development, training accreditation, and compliance processes across Namibia.
My involvement again covered multiple roles ensuring a holistic understanding of both the business and technical landscapes within the NTA environment.
The project also encompassed the complete financial component, delivering an end-to-end solution that enhanced efficiency and streamlined operations.
This experience strengthened my expertise in developing and managing scalable while ensuring that technology remains a tool for empowerment and progress.

FNB Deceased Estate

I was part of the development team for the FNB Deceased Estate Application, a project designed to streamline the management of deceased estate cases. The solution involved reading an unmanned email inbox, extracting key information from incoming messages, and using that data to automatically kick off workflows and assign tasks to the appropriate staff members.
This automation significantly improved operational efficiency, reduced manual handling, and ensured that critical actions were tracked and managed consistently. By integrating intelligent workflow logic with existing business processes, the application enabled FNB staff to handle deceased estate matters more effectively, providing a smoother experience for clients during sensitive times

SysPro: Intergration and automation

What began as a small bulk mailing solution for the client quickly evolved into a much larger engagement. The project required integrating with their existing SysPro implementation, extracting specific datasets, and running an automated process on a scheduled basis. The results of the automation were then seamlessly inserted back into SysPro, creating a fully closed-loop system.
This solution not only optimized operational efficiency but also demonstrated the value of scalable, automated workflows that integrate directly with enterprise systems, turning a simple requirement into a robust, repeatable, and impactful business process.

Koryx

For Koryx, we developed a simple yet effective solution to capture borehole data and generate reports. The system streamlines data collection, ensuring accuracy and consistency, while automatically producing clear and actionable reports to support decision-making and operational oversight

GIC

For GIC, I played multiple roles within the team to help develop an end-to-end project management solution specifically tailored for the construction industry. The solution was designed to streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, and provide real-time oversight of projects, ensuring that both operational and strategic objectives were met efficiently.
This project highlights my ability to contribute across technical, analytical, and management functions, delivering solutions that are both practical and aligned with the unique requirements of the construction sector.

SSG

The SSG project began as an initiative to extract data and provide meaningful reports. Over time, the solution evolved to enrich the data and push it back into existing systems, creating improved operational efficiencies across the organization. Ultimately, the project matured into a comprehensive solution that provided dashboard oversight from multiple data points, incorporating smaller modules such as asset registers, injury-on-duty logs, and other key operational datasets.
This engagement demonstrates our ability to scale and adapt solutions, turning simple reporting tools into fully integrated, enterprise-level systems that enhance visibility, decision-making, and operational control.

ID Scan

I was part of the development team behind ID Scan a unique project focused on innovative identification scanning solutions. My contributions included hands-on testing, including field trials on farms, to ensure the system performed reliably in real-world conditions.
This project highlights our commitment to practical, user-tested solutions that address specific industry needs while maintaining high standards of accuracy, reliability, and usability.
